Leading the Future of Sustainable Tuna
Founded in 2002 by Heidi and her husband, Pavo Walker, Walker Seafoods Australia has grown into Australia’s largest tuna fishing operation. In 2024, Walker’s Tuna made history as the first 100% Australian shelf-stable tuna available in a major supermarket, with Woolworths proudly stocking the product.
Looking ahead, Heidi is set to launch Australia’s first MSC-certified shelf-stable tuna food service pack for the hospitality industry in April 2025, making sustainable tuna more accessible to chefs and restaurants nationwide. Walker’s Tuna is currently available at Woolworths, Harris Farm, IGA, and selected independent grocers.
This award solidifies Heidi Walker’s legacy as a pioneer in sustainable fishing, inspiring more women to lead the charge toward a more responsible and sustainable future for Australia’s seafood industry.
